Brisbane’s first fully undercover night market is bringing bites and brews to the southside
Brisbane’s market scene is absolutely flourishing right now and we couldn’t be happier – after all, what’s not to love about delicious fresh food, discovering new talent and supporting local businesses? If you live south of the CBD and have been craving a taste of the after-dark market scene, your wish is about to be granted. Taking up residency from 4:00–10:00 pm every Friday at the Brisbane Markets site in Rocklea, the Brisbane Night Market is set to debut as the southside’s coolest spot to kickstart your weekend.
Brisbane Night Market is the latest venture from Brisbane MarketPlace, the team behind the wildly popular Saturday Fresh Market and Sunday Discovery Market. This new market will be taking place every week at the existing Brisbane Markets site on Sherwood Road, utilising the unique trade-floor setting of the space. This brand-new concept is a first for Brisbane’s south, offering patrons a weekly meeting hub full of fresh eats, artisan goods and live entertainment that can operate rain, hail or shine.
When it comes to the offering, Brisbane Night Market is truly coming through with the goods. The family-friendly venue has been designed to include everyone, boasting ample free parking, multiple seating hubs and even a dedicated children’s zone to keep the little ones occupied. Up to 40 rotating food vendors will make an appearance every week, serving up a diverse range of street eats – think wood-fired pizzas, Japanese hotdogs, French crepes and more. Adults can enjoy a Friday knock-off drink in the fully licensed bar area while enjoying live entertainment across multiple stages – sounds like a pretty ideal way to start the weekend!
Brisbane Night Market officially launches on Friday February 15, so save the date and make sure you wash your stretchiest pants in anticipation. For more information, head to our Events Guide.
