Brisbane Festival collaborators bring new works to town

As the cavalcade roles into Brisbane with the arrival of spring, and the town is painted pink once more, a troupe of long-time Brisbane Festival collaborators will present a captivating selection of new works.

With its new act The Physical Impossibility of Disappearing, Circa will bring its assemblage of agile acrobats to soar above the crowd, balancing precariously and testing the limits of gravity. The family-friendly performance will inspire with the skills of its spirited circus performers from September 24–26.

From September 5–27, Strut & Fret will perform LIMBO for Brisbane audiences. Breaking records and picking up accolades all over the world, LIMBO takes its viewers to a place that is somewhere between heaven and hell. The gritty, circus-cabaret act combines contortion, aerial acrobatics, illusions and stunts.

Then later in the month from September 15–20, the lauded Expressions Dance Company entertains with The Perfect American. In this intriguing production the final months of Walt Disney’s life are imagined – complete with mythical visions of Abraham Lincoln and Andy Warhol. The visually stunning work was designed by Dan Potra and directed by theatre director Phelim McDermott.
