It’s all happening at South Bank this Brisbane Festival

South Bank has been transformed into an enchanting wonderland of lights, tents and bamboo at this year’s Brisbane Festival.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of strolling through South Bank this September to spy the promising peaks of The Telstra Spiegeltent, the signature cocktails lined up at the Garden Bar or the tangle of bamboo at the Brisbane Airport Light Garden, you’d best make the trot before the annual Brisbane Festival wraps up on Saturday September 27. The riverside location is once again the focal point of the three-week festival, with live music, comedy and acrobatic performances all taking place in and around the Cultural Forecourt outside QPAC.

This year, the mesmerising sights and sounds of the Brisbane Airport Light Garden has certainly lured in the selfie-snappers, while the ten-metre PVC plastic domes of Architects of Air’s Exxopolis lead locals on a maze of twists and tunnels. Roving entertainers are also keeping strollers amused with live music and performances, while the Santos GLNG Twilight Music Series has a couple of free performances left on the schedule. Happy feet can be let loose at the American Music Club every night until September 27, while the children’s program kicks off this weekend in conjunction with the September school holidays, featuring Kaput, Hurry Up and Wait, The Physical Impossibility of Disappearing and But Wait…There’s More.
