Laugh yourself silly at the Brisbane Comedy Festival

Prepare to snort, chortle, giggle and guffaw as some of Australia’s best comedians flock to the Brisbane Comedy Festival throughout March.

Every year the comedy festival season showcases some of the finest in new stand-up, where professional funny people make light of the world around them and crack wise. Whether it’s observational humour, absurdist sketch comedy or wacky physical humour, if you are looking for something to put a smile on your face and give you the chuckles pencil in a few evenings at the Brisbane Comedy Festival. Acclaimed comedians from abroad and Australia will be performing from February 27 to March 23 at the Brisbane Powerhouse, filling an entire month with laughter.

The 2016 program brings the best of the best to town, including comedic giants such as Wil Anderson, Celia Pacquola, Nazeem Hussain, Frank Woodley, Tom Gleeson and Tripod, alongside international comics Tom Green, David O’Doherty and Danny Bhoy. Rising stars such as Becky Lucas, Aunty Donna, Gen Fricker and Nick Cody will also be showing why they are ones to watch in 2016. If you are looking to fill in the gaps in your schedule, be sure to check out the Brisbane Born and Bread showcase, Class Clowns state final and Lucky Dip open mic nights. Head to the Brisbane Powerhouse website for the full program and ticketing information.

Fancy a pre or post-show tipple? Stop in at Mizu, Watt or The Smoke for a drink and a nibble.
