Laugh your bum off at the Brisbane Comedy Festival
Some of the world’s funniest folks will be doing their darndest to make you laugh at the Brisbane Comedy Festival through March.
More than 40 jokers from the nooks of Brisbane, across the country and around the world have started descending upon Brisbane as the Brisbane Comedy Festival kicked off at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Tuesday. Running until Sunday March 22, Australian favourites like Fiona O’Loughlin and Brisbane boy Matt Okine will meet their match with international heavyweights like Sandra Bernhard and Jeff Green.
Cue four hilarious weeks of clever observations, kids’ shows and even workshops for the aspiring comedian. Don’t miss weekly events like the free Knockoff series at 6:00 pm every Friday or The Pineapple Club, which will see ImproMafia dishing up games, songs and quizzes with a dose of nostalgia every Friday and Saturday night. Stay up late for Chalkboard at 10:00 pm every Friday and Saturday, and catch the next generation of jokers in the Class Clowns competition, with heats in early March and the state final on Saturday March 21. This Saturday February 28 will also see the Brisbane Comedy Festival Gala roll in Brisbane’s City Hall. Find more information, browse the festival program and purchase tickets online.
