Start making your list and be sure to check it twice, be-clause the big bearded man in red is getting his reindeers ready for December 25, which is fast-approaching! Trust us, when it comes time to start ticking off your loved ones wish lists there’s no better way to get yourself on Santa’s nice list than by purchasing pressies at a local Christmas market. Why you may ask? Well, you can nab one-of-a-kind treasures for your friends and family (no gift cards here) and you’re supporting your fellow creatives by shopping local – what’s not to love! Now that you’re convinced, here’s a jolly list of the best Christmas markets in Brisbane so you can start planning your festive shopping itinerary. Just a little reminder, we’re in November now so you better get cracking.

Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct Twilight Markets – Friday December 8
The Farm Gate to City Door Twilight Markets will bring 11 stallholders from the country to the city, showcasing everything from seasonal vegetables, artisan honey and dairy products to craft beer, boutique wine and locally-distilled sips. This twilight edition, which will take over the Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct from 5:00–8:00 pm, will be a gourmet foodie mecca showcasing the very best regional flavours, including a Embers Woodfire Dining pop-up that will be dishing up a bounty of bites from premium Scenic Rim ingredients while you meander through the markets. Browse the spectacular selection of eats and treats direct from the Scenic Rim or shop the range of Christmas hampers and boutique gifts available, so you can start ticking off your loved one’s wish lists,  if you haven’t already. Plus, to celebrate the festive season the first 100 market-goers will receive a free limited-edition Christmas flavoured ice cream from Tommerup’s Dairy Farm made by Lick Ice Cream – yum! If all of this shopping makes you hungry (and maybe even a bit thirsty), you can grab a sumptuous snack and a delicious drink from Mica Brasserie, which will be open for the night. 

BrisStyle Twilight Markets – Friday November 10 and December 15
Want to shop up a storm? Head to King George Square on Friday November 10 and December 15 from 4:00–8:00 pm to experience the one and only Brisbane-based marketplace selling 100-percent handmade goods, featuring more than 60 local designers. Admire artisanal hand-crafted goods underneath the gorgeous glow of Brisbane’s City Hall and start ticking gifts off your Christmas wish list.

The BrisStyle Handmade Markets – Saturday December 2
Just in time for Christmas, Brisbane’s favourite handmade designers and artists will gather once again at South Bank to satisfy all of your sustainable handmade shopping needs. A treasure chest of local artisans will set up shop under the spectacular flying whale sculptures for the BrisStyle Handmade Markets on Saturday December 2, with plants, jewellery, candles, fashion and more handmade goodies on offer.

Beenleigh Christmas Twilight Markets – Friday November 17
Southsiders, ’tis the season to deck the halls with a market brimming with silly season cheer. The Beenleigh Christmas Twilight Markets are a perfect spot to do your holiday shopping while enjoying a night out with delicious food, drink and great entertainment to set the festive vibe. Bring along a picnic rug and settle in for a night of live music, roving entertainment, Santa-approved sips and snacks.

Carseldine Christmas Twilight Markets – Saturday November 18
Friends to the north – one of your local markets has had a festive makeover! The beloved Carseldine Markets is giving us another year of its massively popular Christmas twilight edition, bringing together the best local makers and providers for your shopping pleasure. It also promises to be a great family-friendly night out with live entertainment, activities for the little ones and a visit from the big man himself.

Milton Christmas Twilight Markets – Saturday November 25
One of the most hotly anticipated Christmas markets in Brisbane is back for another year – we’re talking Milton Christmas Twilight Markets, baby! Milton Markets’ annual festive fiesta has garnered quite the reputation for providing shoppers with gourmet food, live entertainment, handmade gifts a whole lot of cheer to boot. Dreaming of wine under the Christmas tree? Well, you’re in luck as you can grab a wine or two at the bespoke Brewdolph pop-bar, get down to some groovy tunes and keep the kids in check with an appearance from Santa.

Nundah Christmas Twilight Markets – Saturday December 2
Nundah Markets is set to transform once again into a Christmas wonderland on Saturday December 2 with a bunch of merry festivities on the cards. Stuff your stockings with unique artisan gifts such as handmade jewellery, indoor plants, boutique clothing, and delicious snacks. A bunch of flavoursome bites will also be on offer alongside live music and the market’s iconic North Pole Bar.

West End Christmas Twilight Markets Friday December 1
Make a list, check it twice and head on over to the West End Twilight Markets for all of your gourmet eats and drinks, handmade gifts and snaps with the big man himself. This festive market is sure to deliver elf-approved festive fun for the grown-ups and kids, with iconic Christmas-based live tunes and plenty of kids activities.

DRM Pop-up Christmas Market – Saturday November 25
The BrisStyle crew is renowned for its commitment to supporting local artists, so if you’re keen to show some love to local makers this year, with a side of festive fun then the DRM pop-up Christmas market is the place to do it. Distillery Road Market in Eagleby (halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast) will come alive with stalls stocked to the brim with handmade goodies – you won’t find anything imported, offshore, on-sold or mass-produced here. Add in some live music and street eats and you’ve got yourself a jolly good food lovers shopping experience.

Jingle all the Bay – Saturday December 2
Sandgate fam, listen up! Jingle all the Bay is back, bringing a jam-packed line-up of elf-approved fun to the bay. This annual festive street party and Christmas parade also doubles as a truly fantastic market for all of the folks on your nice list – so while the kids are off enjoying heaps of free activities or taking photos with Santa, you’ll be free to shop for local and artisan goods in peace.

Gasworks Christmas Design Markets – Saturday December 9
The Market Folk are really spreading the love this year, bringing a bevy of Christmas cheer to Gasworks Plaza for a massive local shopping event. You can find boutique market stalls, artisan workshops, pre-loved rack sales, live music, family fun and loads more – fill your stocking with the likes of fashion, art, homewares, plants, ceramics, accessories and cute things. All of that shopping is sure to make you hungry, so we suggest fuelling up at one of Gasworks top-notch nosh spots. We’re talking Botany Newstead, Ping Pong Asian and Milky Lane, just to name a few.

Fish Lane Christmas Markets – Saturday December 16
The Market Folk are returning to Fish Lane right in time for Christmas with the Fish Lane Christmas Markets on Saturday December 16. There will be festive stalls offering art, fashion, homewares, plants, ceramics, children’s goods, beauty and live music filling the air. Plus, market-goers can fuel their summertime shopping with delicious pre-and-post market meals from The Paladar, Lune Croissanterie, Kiki, Chu the Phat, GrassFed and many more tasty pit-stops.

QAGOMA Store Christmas Design Market Weekend – Saturday December 9 and Sunday December 10
Returning for another year, the QAGOMA Store Christmas Design Market is taking over the GOMA forecourt over two very special days – Saturday December 9 and Sunday December 10. QAGOMA will be showcasing beautiful handmade goods, just for you. With more than 80 stalls over the weekend, you can do all of your Christmas shopping in one convenient location from their diverse selection of ceramics, jewellery, homewares, textiles and clothing.

Kuraby Christmas Twilight Market – Friday November 10
Jingle all the way to the Kuraby Christmas Twilight Market and enjoy a festive-filled night of street eats, Christmas beats and a treasure trove of goodies. The kiddies will be kept busy with a petting zoo, jumping castle and face-painting stall, so you can sip, snack and shop in peace.

Makers on the River – Saturday November 11
Returning for a tinsel-covered Christmas edition, Makers on the River is back and bringing bulk handmade goods, local talent and a show-stopping festive fireworks display. Spread across 30 hectares of riverfront space, more than 100 specialty vendors will gather together for an enchanting evening full of gourmet eats, pop-up bars, cheese and oyster bars, roving performers, children’s rides and of course a visit from Mr Claus.
