Brewsvegas celebrates everything great about beer and community

For nine days in March, many of Brisbane’s bars and breweries celebrate the creation and consumption of beer, shining a light on the city’s craft beer culture and fostering an appreciation of good times.

The past decade has seen a massive boom in the market for craft beer. In the past few years alone several boutique breweries have emerged and quickly taken over the market, creating some of the greatest tasting beverages available. Brewsvegas is a celebration of all things craft beer – championing emerging brewers and spotlighting the grass roots community keeping the craft beer industry afloat. From March 11–20, dozens of Brisbane’s bars will be hosting events combining food, entertainment and most importantly beer to show why Brisbane should be considered a beer lovers haven.

The program of events boasts a sizeable selection of parties, workshops, food matching evenings and more. Young Henrys and Crowbar will be hosting an evening of heavy metal karaoke, Well Tapped returns to Tippler’s Tap for its second instalment, while Beerkary Bakery will be hosting a mini-golf day at Wandering Cooks. The Charming Squire will also welcome patrons for a titanic battle to decide what goes better together, wine and cheese or beer and cheese? Local beer havens such as The Scratch, Barbara, Death Valley, Newstead Brewing Co, The Bench, Saccharomyces Beer Cafe, The End and more will be participating. Head to the Brewsvegas website for a full list of participating venues and events, then raise a glass or two to the finest pints in town.
