Brazilian Day Street Festival to hit Fortitude Valley

Saturday October 10 will see Alden Street turn into a pumping celebration of Brazilian Independence Day in the form of a heated street party.

Fans of South American flair will undoubtedly find something to enjoy on the weekend, as all of the best aspects of Brazilian culture are crammed into one day of frenzied partying. The Brazilian Day Street Festival will be bringing all the colour, aroma and sounds of a traditional Brazilian Fiesta with delicious food and drink, live music, dancing and a parade. Located on Alden Street behind The Wickham Hotel, the festivities will kick off at midday and continue well into the night.

Brazilian and South American vendors will be selling authentic cuisine from the region influencing Brazilian barbecue, feijoada stew, paella and sweet and savoury pastries. Caprioska, caipirinha and batida cocktail tents will keep thirst quenched while the sounds of Brazilian music and DJs will keep bodies moving. Be sure to stick around for a parade of elegantly dressed samba dancers or try your hand at the dance yourself with a 30-minute workshop. Tickets are available at Moshtix, get in quick to ensure you get to take part in one of the biggest parties Brisbane has to offer.
