Take a roadtrip south to Bleach* Festival

Hit the Pacific Motorway for the Gold Coast’s largest arts and cultural festival popping up in various locations this month.

From street parties and picnics to pop-up art installations, live theatre and music gigs, Bleach* Festival is set to be another cracking community event in 2015. Held in various locations across the Gold Coast from tomorrow, Friday March 6 to Sunday March 22, the festival aims to maximise community participation while also focusing on events that respond to our natural environment.

Over the past three years, more than 140,000 members of the public and 1000 creatives have been involved in hundreds of events. This year, Bleach* Festival will also coincide with the men’s Quiksilver Pro and women’s Roxy Pro, so the atmosphere on the Gold Coast is sure to be electric. The Inaugural Annual Dance Affair will pay homage to the heyday of the Gold Coast dance hall, while Picnic in Your Patch will bring free family oriented outdoor gatherings to Kirra, Mudgeeraba and the Arts Centre Gold Coast. The highly anticipated m(Ocean) will see musicians including Kim Churchill, Band of Frequencies and Dave Rastovich providing a live, improvised soundtrack as some of the Gold Coast’s best surfers take on the hallowed waves off Burleigh Headland. For more information on the festival, check out the event guide and artist line-up online, and find interviews, event details and social galleries on The Weekend Edition: Gold Coast.
