Hear some Blazing Baroque courtesy of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra
On of the world’s finest period instrument orchestras will be flexing its musical muscle at QPAC on Monday August 8 for a one-off performance of brilliant baroque compositions.
Since 1989, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra has been at the forefront of Australian performance, tallying up more than 1,000 concerts across the nation and scoring five ARIA awards for Best Classical Album. Their name pays tribute to the Brandenburg Concertos of J.S. Bach, who was a central figure in the baroque era, though the orchestra performs work from numerous composers and musicians of the time.
On Monday August 8 the orchestra will be performing a series of iconic sets for Blazing Baroque, with several musicians taking turns as soloist. The Blazing Baroque program features performances of compositions by Sammartini, Teleman, Vivaldi and Fasch. Expect each component to come alive in a fiery sonic display of baroque trumpets and drums. Grab some tickets for this one-off performance before they are snatched up!
