BIGSOUND has dropped a mammoth festival line-up so here’s the 411
Gearing up to blow out 21 candles on its birthday cake, BIGSOUND, the southern hemisphere’s biggest celebration of new music, is returning to take over Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley from September 6–9. Now, the festival has dropped its locked-and-loaded 2022 line-up and it’s a beast, to say the least. Here is all of the musical magic you can look forward to …
BIGSOUND 2022 will celebrate the big two-one with 182 artists performing on 23 stages, across 21 venues over three nights in Fortitude Valley this September. Making their first appearance at BIGSOUND will be tantalising tune-makers Adrian Dzvuke, Budjerah, flowerkid, Dallas Woods, Mia Wray and Teenage Joans. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper BIGSOUND without celebrating Brisbane talent, and so you can catch us lining up to see Hope D, WIIGZ, Hallie, Jem Cassar-Daley, Concrete Surfers and VOIID when they take the stage.
There’s a bunch of interstate and international artists set to bring the noise at this year’s festival, with punters able to groove to Melbourne’s Ashwarya, Birdz and Kee’ahn and Sydney’s merci, mercy, Stevan and The Rions. Other artists travelling to our river city for the festival include Aodhan, BOY SODA, The Terrys, Greta Stanley, Newport and Mvlholland. Our Kiwi friends will also be making an appearance, with JessB, Soaked Oats, Troy Kingi, TE KAAHU, Church & AP, MELODOWNZ and Jenny Mitchell set to play live and loud. One primo performance that can’t be missed is courtesy of alt-pop collective Alter Boy who make their music accessible to those who are hard of hearing by incorporating AUSLAN into their live performances.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the ripper roster of artists set to descend on Brisbane this September for BIGSOUND. To peep the full and finessed line-up for the festival and to grab tickets, head to the BIGSOUND website.
