Bespoke exhibition at Queensland Museum & Sciencentre

Bespoke provides a canvas for furniture design at Queensland Museum

Bespoke is a new exhibition series at the Collectors Cafe at the Queensland Museum & Sciencentre, showcasing experimental furniture designs crafted from sustainable, recycled or reclaimed materials.

As the design-savvy recover from their Brisbane Indesign binge, further feed your design addiction or gain a taste of last weekend’s showings as Bespoke holds a launch party this Thursday for its new exhibition.

Celebrating the installation of the unique furniture designed by QUT students as shown at Brisbane Indesign, view these pieces crafted from reclaimed wooden pegs, computer keys, string, rubber tyres, balloons and zip ties. Emphasising texture and experimenting with traditional furniture forms, this new exhibition follows on from the works of bodger-chairmaker Michael Epworth.

With the space changing monthly, pop in for a sit, absorb some music, and down a drink or two, while discovering the hidden tales of Queensland furniture design exhibited within Collectors.
