Meats, beats and brews combine for the BBQ and Beer Roadshow

Picture yourself, if you will, nestled in the lush grass on a warm summer’s day. Sitting in your lap is a plate of juicy, tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat that has been lovingly prepared by a barbecue expert. In your hand is an ice-cold craft beer, the perfect accompaniment to your feast. Is this a dream? No, dear reader – this could very much be your reality when the BBQ and Beer Roadshow rolls into the Doomben Racecourse this Saturday February 18. Wear your loosest pants and don’t forget the wet wipes.

Bringing together two of the most delicious things in the world, the BBQ and Beer Roadshow is more than just a day to feast. This event has been carefully crafted to bring the artistry behind barbecuing and craft brewing centre stage, celebrating these two unique communities that pair so well together. For those who want an inside look at the magic behind the meat, the BBQ & Beer Stage is the place to go – catch brewing sessions, in-depth demonstrations and even a live podcast onstage with the legends from Smoking Hot Confessions. Putting its money where its mouth is, the BBQ Championships will see some of the country’s best barbecue crews battle it out for a $15,000 prize. There’s even a live music stage, with local musicians pumping out chilled tunes to set the vibe for the day.

So by now you’re no doubt salivating at the thought of all of this tasty fare, and we can confirm that the best of the best are on board to give you those unmistakeable meat sweats (worth it). Smokin’ Gun Texas BBQ, This Little Piggie and Ozmoke lead the charge with brisket, ribs, pork and smoked cuts for days, while you can also find Mac From Way Back, In Strada Pizza and a whole host of international culinary masters doing their thing. Sip on brews from All Inn Brewing Co, Pirate Life and Stone & Wood, plus a strong showing from local favourites Newstead Brewing Co. and Green Beacon Brewing. Don’t back beer? Kick back with specialty cocktails by Malt Traders or a crisp Australian cider.

If this sounds like your dream Saturday, you can pick up tickets to the BBQ and Beer Roadshow here.
