Metro Arts invites you to have an Awkward Conversation

Local playwright and director, Daniel Evans, has teamed up with Metro Arts to present eight works of stirring theatre.

Metro Arts is presenting a series of eight new works of theatre that take performers and audiences out of their comfort zone and throw them into awkward moments and conversations.

Curated by local director and playwright, Daniel Evans, Awkward Conversation features works of theatre from directors Catarina Hebbard, Shaun Charles, Linda Hassall, Glyn Roberts, Caroline Dunphy, Lucas Stibbard, Todd MacDonald and Steven Mitchell Wright. Spread over two weeks, these shows will dig into issues of violence, suicide, unrequited love, misogyny, gender, poor parenting and more.

This series of confronting works wrestle with themes and ideas that impact many in our society. These awkward topics will be addressed head on with minimalist production and lighting to better bring the issues into focus. Awkward Conversation will run at the Sue Benner Theatre at Metro Arts from November 18 to 29.
