Local lads Art Of Sleeping play Oh Hello
Jumping the gun on a soon-to-be-released EP, Brisbane band Art Of Sleeping is playing at Oh Hello in Fortitude Valley tonight on the first of what will surely be many a headline tour.
After Triple J picked up on the immense sound of breakout single ‘Empty Hands’, the band’s reputation has soared. Crafting a web of folk-inspired storytelling, the EP entraps the listener with haunting lyrics and the controlled, sometimes gruff vocals of frontman Caleb Hodges.
Since the launch of first EP Colourblind in 2010, the five-piece has maintained its brooding rhythmic arrangements and strong instrumental hooks, while honing a distinct sound that makes you sit up and listen. Having toured the country with San Diego’s Owl Eyes last month and with plans to play BIGSOUND in September, catch Art of Sleeping this Thursday at Oh Hello, supported by Tourism and Palindromes.
