Watch animation’s finest moments at the Origins film screening

Animation geeks can get their film fix next Tuesday July 29 as QUT screens six shorts at Origins: Early Animation Experiments on 16 mm Film in West End.

QUT’s ANtIMATION exhibition has been delighting the crowds by exploring the overlaps between art, film and media technology at Kelvin Grove’s The Block this week, and next Tuesday July 29, Origins: Early Animation Experiments on 16 mm Film is sure to take things up a notch. Short film fans can witness some of the finest moments in animation history, as a series of six shorts are screened from 6:00–7:00 pm at Loft in West End. The free event celebrates some of animation’s earliest innovations, with projections from 16 mm film thanks to the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. Enjoy the 1934 creation L’Idée (The Idea) in black and white and 1936 short Birth of a Robot in colour, alongside four more archival treasures. Register your attendance to the event online.
