TWE Alliance Francaise French Film Festival

Alliance Française French Film Festival turns 25

If you’re curious as to why you’re seeing so many people sporting striped tops and ferrying bread sticks about town in their bicycle baskets lately, you’ll be pleased to hear that the beloved annual Alliance Française French Film Festival is the cause.

Celebrating its 25th year of life, the Alliance Française French Film Festival has returned to Brisbane, and will run from March 6–25. Opening at Palace Centro with a screening of The Finishers and closing at Palace Barracks with classic film Mon Oncle, the festival is set to bring the best of French pictures and culture to Brisbane.

Aside from its Opening Night Gala and Closing Night Classic events, which will each showcase French wines and cuisine alongside the featured films, the festival will present a noteworthy selection of special events to Brisbane audiences. With its cycling-themed Tour de Force event, Jappeloup festivities at Palace Centro Cinema, child-friendly Billy and Buddy event, Populaire evening featuring food by C’est Bon Restaurant and The 400 Blows soiree with treats included, Francophiles will find many a new likeminded friend during the fast-moving festival.
