TWE QTC A Tribute of Sorts

QTC proudly presents A Tribute of Sorts

Variety shows could be best described as ostentatious, flashy and a little bit kitsch. And, in Queensland Theatre Company’s newest production A Tribute of Sorts, the plot presents what happens when two oddball teen cousins create their very own variety show.

Juniper Plank and Ivan Plank have more in common than the family they were born into. Despite the strange pair’s best creative intentions, efforts to create a performance that chronicles the unfortunate events that led to the ultimate demise of 26 infants could be considered less than tasteful. A Tribute of Sorts presents the cousins’ funny, inventive and slightly warped journey entailing the short lives of the ill-fated infants (in alphabetic order, no less).

Benjamin Schostakowski, the mind behind the would-be tribute, brings line-crossing humour, quirkiness and a celebration of theatre to the Bille Brown Studio stage at West End’s Queensland Theatre Company. The captivating show will run from May 7–17.
