See Restless at new A-CH Gallery, West End
The number of architecture firms tucked behind skinny doorways and up stairwells in West End can be astounding to the previously unaware street dweller.
Behind the brick facade of number 75 Vulture Street are the chipboard-lined walls of A-CH (Atelier Chen Hung) architecture practice. The creation of Melody Chen and James Hung, A-CH works across installation, residential, retail and commercial projects.
Embracing its love of creativity across various disciplines, A-CH has now transformed its street-level foyer into a gallery space. Hosting exhibitions by Australian artists, designers and makers, A-CH Gallery will see group exhibition Restless line the walls during November 8–17.
A reflection on the postmodernity of local emerging art, Restless celebrates ideas and convictions through painting and animation. The works of young Brisbane artists Nat Koyama, Haruka Sawa, Archer Davies and Freda Davies share few aesthetic similarities, yet the group is united by the common thread of artists finding their own personal ideology in a culture of scenes. The Restless opening is on this Saturday November 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
