Get behind community radio during 4ZZZ’s 2015 Radiothon

Brisbane community radio stalwart 4ZZZ is celebrating 40 years of existence and is celebrating in style with its annual Radiothon.

Four decades is a good innings, no matter how you look at it. For a community radio station to stay on ait for that long deserves plenty of kudos but fortunately for us 4ZZZ doesn’t have time to stop and smell the roses. As it hits the 40-year mark, 4ZZZ will embark on its yearly Radiothon, encouraging more subscribers to support community radio. The theme of the 2015 drive revolves around the 4ZZZ mascot, Jeff, a banana who is endeavouring to check of every item on his bucket list before he, well, kicks the bucket.

From August 22 to 31, 4ZZZ will be giving away prizes to new and renewing subscribers that differ depending on subscriber category. Passionate subscribers can win a HiFi system from The Audio Tailor, while general subscribers can win a Dendy Cinema gold pass, tickets to the Byron Bay Bluesfest or an annual venue pass to Max Watts. Musician subscribers can also win a PA system from Acoustic Technologies and a guitar from Guitar Brothers. Daily prizes include tickets to Woodford Folk Festival, Meredith Music Festival, Red Deer Music And Arts Festival or a season pass to La Boite. Support community radio and you might just win something amazing in return – head to the 4ZZZ website to subscribe and check out the prizes.
