Coochin Fields, a huge new festival and camping site, has been announced for the Sunshine Coast
With the recent revival of Byron Bay Bluesfest and the announcement of Falls Festival and Listen Out, it’s safe to say as a collective we’re welcoming the return of music festivals with open arms. In a stroke of great timing, we’ll soon be graced with a mammoth new venue to cater to this influx of festivals. Today, The Comiskey Group (the team behind iconic venues like Eatons Hill Hotel and Sandstone Point Hotel), announced Coochin Fields, one of the largest ever privately owned festival and camping sites in Queensland.
Located in the picturesque Coochin Creek area just 35 minutes south of Maroochydore, Coochin Fields is 150-ha worth of prime festival grooving and camping space – that’s as big as 22 football fields! With its new venue resembling the size of North Byron Parklands and with festivals back in a very big way, the Comiskey Group hopes to host large-scale camping festivals reminiscent of Splendour in the Grass and Byron Bay Blues Festival. Punters won’t need to wait too long to visit Coochin Fields, as the Comiskey Group are already in discussions with iconic Australian festivals ready to expand into Queensland. Heck yes!
A family-owned Queensland company at the forefront of the Australian live entertainment industry, the Comiskey Group has hosted a treasure chest of top-tier musos in its venues including the one-and-only Prince, Ice Cube, The Beach Boys, Ke$ha and Post Malone. Music lovers are being told to hold on to their hats as Coochin Fields is the first of many projects to be announced from the Comiskey Group in 2022.
