New brand Wisteria Design engages artisan weavers
With a resume that includes styling for Australian home magazine Vogue Living and 16 years as managing director and designer of Equator Homewares, Kerryn Haig has turned her attention to a new challenge, launching her own furniture company Wisteria Design.
At Equator, Kerryn engaged artisan weavers in Vietnam to handcraft homewares from rattan, and this signature has transposed across to the new company. Wisteria Design sees timber, upholstered, bedroom and outdoor collections come together with hand-woven rattan and bamboo furniture and homewares. The brand employs a neutral colour palette to highlight the design and functionality of each piece, as well as instills a sense of calm and comfort in the home.
The hanging pod chairs in the rattan range have us thinking ahead to breezy spring afternoons, lazing about reading in the garden. You can find a selection of pieces locally at the Brave Design showroom in Bowen Hills.
