The award-winning lifestyle precinct of West Village has evolved substantially over the past few years, transforming the heart of West End into a top-notch dining and living hub. The Common off Boundary Street, which sits adjacent to West Village’s restored heritage buildings, is a lush green space that boasts its own lively pop-up dining precinct The Garden Pantry. Here, vendors including Barko & Co, Mr Bunz and Cheeky Poké Bar – as well as colourful pop-up watering hole Fredericks – hum with activity day and night. Even with so much already happening, the West Village team has plenty more in the works for the new year and beyond, looking to further bolster its retail offering and establish the precinct as a go-to destination for the inner-urban community at large by early 2021.

While exact details are still being kept under wraps, we can confirm that the next stage of construction will add some exciting new additions to the precinct’s Village Retail offering. First is a full-line Woolworths supermarket, which will give West Village residents and locals a dependable spot to grab the essentials and more. The iconic Peters Ice Cream Factory will house an expansive fresh-food market, packed with everything from flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables to a butcher, fishmonger and bakery. In addition, there will be over 20 speciality shops and eateries added to the precinct – including full line restaurants, park-side cafes and gourmet providores. A new publicly accessible open parkland space will be a tranquil greenery-filled oasis connecting the existing Common to Mollison Street. Helping right the work-life balance of residents will be on-site medical facilities as well as a Goodlife Gym – keeping these vital amenities close at hand.
