Queensland’s first Art Series Hotel set for Spring Hill

Asian Pacific Group is bringing its renowned Art Series Hotel brand to Queensland, with the launch of The Johnson Apartments planned for September 16.

The Art Series Hotels are all inspired by and dedicated to Australian contemporary artists, each featuring original artworks of its namesake artist, and using that artist’s vision as inspiration for each hotel’s design features. All of the Art Series Hotels present guests with a multifaceted art experience, including art libraries, tours, books and utensils. Taking its name and inspiration from contemporary Australian artist Michael Johnson, The Johnson Apartments have reimagined the former Mains Roads headquarters on Spring Hill’s Boundary Street. Once the tallest tower in the city, the building was heritage listed in June last year, preserving the works of Viennese-born modernist architect Dr Karl Langer. The Johnson Apartments will be a mixed-use development, combining both residential apartments and an Art Series Hotel, as well as retail and restaurants.

The development will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments designed by Woods Bagot, with all apartments boasting city views and spacious interiors. The Johnson Apartments will also feature an entertainment pavilion, gym and a 50-m swimming pool and deck, designed by former Olympian Michael Klim.
