Anticipated luxury hotel The Calile opens on James Street

Ever since the first details of The Calile emerged, we’ve been daydreaming of enjoying its Hollywood-style extravagances – afternoons lounging by the pool, exquisite food and unbeatable comfort. As of today, Thursday September 27, The Calile is officially open for business. This new James Street icon is reportedly set to redefine lavishness, with a design aesthetic that positions The Calile as a veritable oasis in the heart of Brisbane’s bustling inner suburbs.

It’s been a long time in the making, but finally The Calile Hotel has commenced bookings. A combined effort from Calile Malouf Investments, Toga Far East Hotels and acclaimed architects Richards & Spence, The Calile Hotel’s gradual emergence over the past few years has been met with an eagerness and excitement. The building has been designed with subtropical inspirations in mind, embracing Brisbane’s sun-soaked lifestyle while also slotting in perfectly with James Street’s established modern aesthetic. An impressive layered facade comprised of white brick, breeze blocks, precast concrete, recessed balconies and scalloped concrete parapets towers seven storeys above the bustling promenade, housing 178 boutique rooms, new retail options and some anticipated dining destinations.

Each of The Calile’s rooms are fashionably appointed and come with best mod cons, no matter if you’re staying in the cool oak and rosé-tinged marble-adorned Essential room or the top-of-the-line luxury of the Calile Suite. The Calile also boasts incredible amenities outside of the suites, including the crystal-blue pool (complete with poolside cabanas), luxury day-spa facilities, a fitness centre, an amphitheatre and sizeable function areas. Not long after the hotel’s official opening celebrations in early October, we can expect some new arrivals in the form of Simon Gloftis’ Greek eatery Hellenika, and the hotel’s own Lobby Bar and more retail arrivals.
