Brisbane’s automotive community to get an energetic boost with new Tesla showroom

Electric vehicles are fast becoming the new norm, and Tesla is leading the charge in their development. A development application has been submitted for a new showroom in Fortitude Valley that will reportedly boast three levels of sales and service facilities.

Although entrepreneur Elon Musk is making headlines with his attempts to rejuvenate the space exploration industry, we can’t forget that the jewel in his crown remains Tesla Motors – the world’s largest clean energy-based automotive manufacturer. For the past few years Tesla has been expanding in Australia, installing superchargers along Australia’s east coast in addition to opening stores and service centres in Sydney and Melbourne. A proposed flagship showroom in Brisbane will take over the location formerly occupied by Videopro in Fortitude Valley’s Homemaker centre, further establishing the suburb as the place to go for luxury vehicles.

The design of the development – spearheaded by design firm Geyer – will change the building’s facade and overhaul the interior. The proposed tenancy will include a Tesla vehicle showroom and sales office as well as a servicing zone and customer lounge. A basement portion will house a 24-hour Supercharging station and a dedicated car wash. The showroom’s amenities and features may change depending on the assessment process – keep your eye on The Weekend Edition for more information.
