Studio Twocan handcrafts cement ceramic homewares
Melbourne sisters Becc and Maddie Sharrock have always had shared creative interests. From sewing costumes for school productions and working on submissions for Saturday Disney as children, the girls continued to work together into adulthood, joining forces to create a range of cement ceramics under the name Studio Twocan.
The Studio Twocan range was refined slowly over two years, to ensure the best quality in both design and manufacturing. Each piece is crafted by hand, with the cement coloured by pigment to create an organic layering effect, inspired by Australian landscapes. The cement ceramics are then polished with natural oils, highlighting and celebrating each item’s unique imperfections.
Studio Twocan’s candlesticks, vases and vessels are feminine, minimalist and organic. Maddie and Becc chose to work with cement for its ‘raw and unpretentious honesty’, which provides a stark contrast to the vibrantly layered colours on each piece.
