Snuggle up in a recycled wool blanket from Seljak Brand
In today’s largely disposable world, Seljak Brand is going against the grain to make recycled wool blankets using offcuts from the factory floor. Seljak Brand is committed to diverting waste from landfill and transforming it into something useful.
Despite coming from very different professional backgrounds, the Seljak sisters share a vision for a world without waste. It was this very notion that led them on a journey to the oldest weaving mill in Australia because as it turns out, this particular mill retains all of its production offcuts for future use. Realising the potential, the talented duo transform the offcuts into super soft recycled blankets that are not only built to last but are designed to be renewed at the end of their life, ultimately creating a closed loop system that is free from wastage.
Seljak’s blankets are made from 70 percent recycled Australian merino wool and a 30 percent blend of polyester and recycled alpaca, mohair and cotton so they’re cosy enough for indoors and durable enough for outdoors. The best part is, that for every ten blankets sold, Seljak Brand donates one to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Victoria. Shop Seljak Brand online and wrap yourself in the cosy satisfaction of knowing you’re doing your part to help the environment and reduce waste.
