Sink into a Mayor sofa designed by &tradition

Carrying on the tradition of fine craftsmanship while introducing design heritage to a new generation, contemporary design company &tradition is the Danish studio behind the renowned Mayor sofa. Originally designed in 1939 by Danish architects Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen for the Sollerod Town Hall in Copenhagen, the iconic Mayor sofa has become one of their most well-known works. Brought back to life by &tradition, the modernist three-seater combines a Scandinavian wood aesthetic with tight wool upholstery. The solid frame is made of white oiled oak or smoked oiled oak, with a variety of upholstery colours and materials available. Two rows of buttons extend over the armrests and back, with three loose cushions comprising the seating area. A list of Australian &tradition suppliers can be found on the company’s website.
