Ask anyone in Brisbane for an example of a premium lifestyle precinct and James St will undoubtedly be the first thing to spring to mind. James St is more than just an address – the premium retail and lifestyle destination is a whole brand, darling. Those fond of a wander down the promenade may have recently spotted a sign in the vacant lot at the beginning of the street eluding to something called James St Commons coming soon – we’re here to shed a light on exactly what you can expect from the new space.

In keeping with the whole James St brand, James St Commons is set to slot seamlessly into the precinct’s lush, high-end offering. Perched at the entrance of the street at number one, the urban food and retail destination will be made up of 11 tenancies. Applications for tenancies are currently being taken through JPMC Retail, with the company advising that they are seeking premium operators that go beyond the traditional retail offering. The final selection of retailers promises to be unlike anything else in Brisbane, focusing on businesses that will make the most of the green space available.

When it comes to design, James St Commons will fit in seamlessly with the prestigious postcode’s current leafy aesthetic. Brisbane-based architecture firm Myers Ellyett has come on board to take on the project, with a particular emphasis placed on green spaces and shared community areas. Myers Ellyett already has a slick portfolio of cutting-edge retail design and concepts under its belt, including the likes of Elements of Byron Resort’s stage two development, so the anticipation for James St Commons is sky high.

You can keep up to date with all things James St Commons through the precinct’s official website here.
