Handsom x Milly Dent: A collaboration of talent
What do you get if you cross a ceramicist with two fashion designers? Limited-edition, beautifully crafted homewares that will be the envy of all your friends.
Sydney ceramicist Milly Dent has paired up with the designers of Melbourne-based clothing label, Handsom to create a stunning collection of homewares inspired by the deep-blue colour palette of Handsom’s new winter range. The collaboration came to pass after Milly pitched her idea to Sam Rush and Henry Allum – the designers behind the Handsom label – and, almost immediately, the trio set to work to test a range of ceramic glazing and finishing techniques, and trial a mix of Pantone colours that best matched Handsom’s new season knitwear.
The result? Three gorgeous vessels – a bowl, cup and espresso cup – all the same shape but scaled versions of one another. They feature an inky-blue swirl on the interior, giving the effect of staring into a deep, almost bottomless ocean. The simplicity of Milly’s designs, paired with Handoms’s understated approach to men’s and women’s wear, make this collaboration a match made in heaven.
