New Valley towers help restore and activate site heritage

Helping to restore a piece of Brisbane’s heritage, Forza Capital has lodged a development application for two 26- and 27-storey buildings on St Pauls Terrace.

The development will incorporate a former 1930s heritage patisserie building into the design, which will include 260 apartments in a podium and tower form. Adding character and ambiance to the project, the heritage-listed building will illustrate how development can integrate heritage buildings into design and highlight the evolution of Brisbane’s architecture.

Retail tenancies are proposed at ground level within the retained part of the former heritage listed McDonald’s Bakery, with frontages to Alfred Street and St Pauls Terrace. A new laneway and small urban space off Alfred Street is planned, which will activate the current service lane.

The planned residential towers will comprise rooftop features including a rooftop pool, raised garden beds, oscillating solar shelters, exercise circuits, a lounge and picnic area and outdoor stage on the Alfred Street Towner, and plunge pools on the St Pauls Terrace tower. The podium level will incorporate shaded garden rooms, seating walls, water tanks, a barbeque area, resident common area, bioretention and raised gardens, as well as a pool and deck area near the St Pauls Terrace frontage.
