Since its revitalisation, the bustling Fish Lane precinct has managed to turn what was once a rather uninspiring space into a hub of culture. The South Brisbane marvel is set to get even more exciting in the coming years – property giant Aria has submitted a development application to overhaul a section of land below a railway overpass and turn it into a lush urban park.

Fish Lane Town Square is the next step in Aria Property Group’s complete overhaul of the Fish Lane precinct. The company currently has an approved development application for the stunning Waterfall residential complex, which is next to the proposed site for the exciting Fish Lane Town Square project. The square has been designed by architecture firm Richards & Spence (of The Calile Hotel fame) as well as urban design firm RPS Group.

The Fish Lane Town Square project aims to continue the upward trajectory of Fish Lane, creating a lush open public space with multiple purposes – from relaxing in the grass to shopping, dining and live entertainment. The square’s development has been broken up into two stages, with this first application outlining landscaping, pedestrian access, redevelopment of the existing Quinn House building, plus the addition of twelve new tenancies on the block.
