Enter your cafe in the Eat Drink Design Awards
Each year we peel back the pages of artichoke magazine with anticipation, hoping to see a few Brisbane-based cafes and restaurants amongst the beautiful venues that take out the top spots in Architecture Media’s annual Eat Drink Design Awards. While we appreciate that there is a surfeit of beautiful new cafes, bars and restaurants dotting the country (and our neighbour New Zealand) to choose from, we would love to see more of our city’s excellent locales recognised at a national level.
Entries are now open for the 2014 Eat Drink Design Awards, with submissions closing on July 25, and the winners announced in November. The awards recognise well-designed foodie venues across six categories, including bar, restaurant and cafe design, temporary design, retail design and identity design.
From pop-up restaurants to fine dining institutions to humble hole-in-the-wall cafes, the awards recognise design as an integral part of the eating and drinking experience, enhancing the overall feelings of delight and satisfaction that comes from enjoying a meal or simple beverage out and about. This year’s jury features a mix of architecture and food names, including Kirsti Simpson, a director and studio manager of Hassell’s Brisbane office.
