Furnish your space with handmade pieces from Douglas and Bec

When a father-daughter duo displays complementary creative talents, it makes sense that they go into business together. Such is the story of furniture designers Douglas and Bec.

Douglas and Bec may have been family for as long as they can remember, but they’ve only been corporate partners since 2006, when they launched their eponymously named furniture business. What started as a small garage operation in Clevedon, New Zealand, has flourished into a well-known international furniture and homewares brand, synonymous with high-end materials and hand-crafted elements. Fashioned from honest woods, like oak and American ash, and finished with spun metals, copper, brass, linen, leather and hand-blown glass, all furniture and lighting is handmade in New Zealand by Douglas and Bec or a team of local artisans. The father-daughter duo, along with Bec’s husband, also works closely with architects and designers on a number of worldwide commercial projects.

While physical stores are only located in New Zealand and Melbourne, Brisbanites can pop over to Douglas and Bec’s online store to check out their wares, including the unique line pendant light, the Pylon coat stand, and their famous leather weave chair.
