Cube building blocks encourage flexible living
Inspired by the challenges of modern-day living – pokey apartments, upsizing or downsizing and the needs of growing families, Living Design crafts furniture with flexibility at its heart.
Before starting Living Design, Klaus and Annett Todt owned a cabinet-making business in Germany, before packing up and migrating to sunny Nelson in New Zealand. In their journey to create beautiful, versatile furniture, Klaus and Annett dreamt up the Cube – a stool, bedside table or side table made from eco-friendly MDF, ply and walnut or birch veneer. Available in a range of colours and finishes, the Cube can function solo or unite with another Cube.
The piece is also designed to easily marry with a Connector to form a coffee table, TV unit, bench or bookshelf. The Cubes interlock with each other and the extending Connector piece without the need for permanent fixings. Find them via theclever:designstore, which showcases ‘clever’ designs from New Zealand and beyond.
