TWE Chain Reaction

Collective curation on show in Chain Reaction at artisan

While it seems we constantly comment on the six degrees of separation that comes with living in Brisbane, sometimes the connections and partnerships between local creative practitioners are less obvious. New artisan exhibition, Chain Reaction is bringing this creative web under the spotlight.

Local craft and design supporter Elie Moubarak (Gerard’s Bistro, Hatch & Co.) was the centrepoint of the line-up, tasked with selecting two Queensland makers whose work inspires him. These two makers were then charged with nominating their own two creative practitioners, until a constellation of local talent emerged. Collectively curated, Chain Reaction brings together a diverse mix of artists and designers, with the potential to spark future collaborations. The resulting group comprises Christina Waterson, Abe Muriata, Emily Murray, Brian Robinson, Barbara Heath and Malcolm Enright, Andrew Ness, Michael Phillips, Lucas Salton, Russell Anderson, Rebecca Ward, Christopher Trotter, Remo Vallance, Hannah Cutts and Fukutoshi Ueno.

The artist-led exhibition presents an opportunity to observe both the connections and links between the selected makers and the mediums and industries at hand. The exhibition will open in Gallery One at artisan this Friday February 14 and run until April 26.
