Dual residential towers set for Gasworks precinct
Cavcorp is looking to add another development to its strong Newstead portfolio, with plans for a dual-tower residential development in the Gasworks precinct.
The DA has been submitted for the development to sit at 20 Festival Place, Newstead. The mixed-use development will be developed in stages, and include both retail tenancies and residential apartments. Stage one will see the completion of the first 15-storey tower, with 26 one-bedroom, 156 two-bedroom and eight three-bedroom apartments; and stage two will have a 25-storey tower with 40 one-bedroom, 120 two-bedroom and 16 three-bedroom apartments. Each tower will feature a mix of ground-floor retail tenancies intended for restaurants and shops, which will add to the current Gasworks precinct.
The development has been designed by Orbit Architecture, and includes rooftop swimming pools, a sundeck, golf nets, a bocce green and vegetable gardens on top of the towers. The DA also details a unique and innovative dog day spa on top of the retail space, featuring a dog wash, dog lounge, open lawn, barbecue facilities and water playground designed especially for furry friends. This will be Cavcorp’s seventh project in the area, also responsible for Le Bain, Kurv, 10AK and Y43 in Newstead and The James and Como in Teneriffe.
