BNE Auto Mall unveils its professionally designed test track facility
The BNE Auto Mall development has unveiled its latest feature – a two-and-a-half kilometre multi-purpose test track designed by V8 Supercar and Bathurst 1000 champion Mark Skaife.
In 2015, the Brisbane Airport Corporation announced its plans to develop a 51.3-hectare site at the heart of its airport precinct into an automotive retailing hub. Set to be a major nucleus for automotive shopping and education, the project will is said to be the first of its kind in Australia. The BNE Auto Mall will also include a one-of-a-kind test track, which will provide drivers with the chance to test drive new vehicles in a safe environment as well as offering opportunities for training and education programs.
Champion racing driver Mark Skaife has been brought on board to design the track – drawing upon his extensive racing experience for the layout and design. The track also features a 4WD test track and a skidpan – both fully lit for use at night. The BNE Auto Mall will also feature exhibition and conference facilities as well as hotels and event areas.
