The annual award recognises and celebrates Australian interior design at both a national and international level, with jurors appointed by the Design Institute of Australia. Queensland artist, designer and maker Christina Waterson has been invited back to the panel of jurors for 2014, joining other industry professionals from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Christina’s multi-disciplinary practice has ranged from work with Cox Rayner Architects to exhibition design for Queensland Art Gallery, Museum of Brisbane and State Library of Queensland. Recently, you’ll have found her work in the Hightide exhibition at artisan and in installation form at the Gail Sorronda James Street boutique.

This year’s Australian Interior Design Awards will see Christina joined by fellow jurors Susanna Bilardo, Matthew Blain, Hamish Gutherie, Victoria Judge, Paul Kelly, Geraldine Maher and Ryan Russell, and convenor Joanne Cys. Any Australian-based design professional may enter the awards, with submitted projects needing to have been completed between September 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013. Categories include retail, hospitality, workplace, public, installation and residential design, with all submitted projects also automatically eligible for best of state awards in commercial, residential, international design and sustainability advancement. Entries close on Wednesday February 12, with the shortlist to be published on Friday March 14.
