Art Series Hotel, Spring Hill

Art Series Hotel announced for Brisbane’s Spring Hill

The Art Series Hotel Group has acquired a building in Spring Hill to create the seventh Art Series Hotel.

Melbourne property entrepreneur Will Deague founded Art Series Hotels just four years ago, with 2014 set to almost double the brand’s offerings. Seeing a need for boutique accommodation in Brisbane, Will acquired the 10-storey old Main Roads building on Boundary Road in Spring Hill from the state government for $22 million. The $155 million luxury hotel will house 350 rooms, with the majority sold as apartments, retaining 100 rooms for the hotel.

Just a leisurely stroll to the river and CBD, the Spring Hill hotel will make the decision to explore nearby or stay in a tough one, with the grounds featuring a 70-metre swimming pool, open-air cinema, volley ball court and golf driving range. The final design will see the original building maintained across the 9,000 sqm plot of land. Keeping with tradition, the hotel will be named after a renowned Australian artist with said artist’s works to be showcased throughout the hotel.

The group is known for delivering an art-inspired, design-rich accommodation experience across its current suite of Melbourne offerings. Currently the brand sees The Cullen, The Olsen and The Blackman established in Melbourne, while The Watson will open in July 2014 in Adelaide. Bendigo Studio and Larwill Studio in Parkville are also set to open in May and December 2014, respectively, as part of a new studio concept that expands the luxury brand to regional and urban cities in a compact, affordable way. Brisbane’s Art Series Hotel is due to open in December 2015.
