Another Aria tower planned for South Brisbane

Joining a suite of finished and under-construction tower developments across South Brisbane, Aria property group has lodged a development application for a new 20-storey building on Melbourne Street. This latest submission will be the company’s seventh apartment building across the South Bank, West End and South Brisbane pocket.

Since 2012, Aria has completed Station 16 and Artisan (above Wilde Flora) on Merivale Street and Vine on Russell Street (above Merriweather), while the 20-storey Austin tower on Grey Street and Botanica on the corner of Edmonstone and Boundary Streets are currently under construction. Aria’s application to build twin residential towers at 38 Hope Street was also approved this month, which will see 28-storeys of apartments sandwiched by a rooftop recreation space and ground-level retail.

Designed by Tony Owen Partners Architects, the new 20-storey residential tower set for 109 Melbourne Street will comprise 180 apartments, with a rooftop pool, bar, barbecue area and open-air cinema. The ground-floor retail space will see shops, cafes and restaurants run along the base of the tower, activating the laneway and cross-block link between Melbourne Street and Fish Lane.
