TWE Anomaly Collective

Anomaly collective highlights raw materials and craftsmanship

Deviating from the norm, this collective has gathered together some forward-thinking designers to push the boundaries of Australian manufacturing.

A collaboration between the high-end surface technology designers from Axolotl and the folk behind furniture manufacturer Evostyle, Anomaly is producing Australian designed and made lighting, furniture and homewares. Focusing on cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, the collaborative brand is the brainchild of Kim and Kris Torma (Axolotl) and Luke and Louise Ommundson (Evostyle), who have in turn engaged ten local contemporary designers.

For the collective’s launch, the group has clustered together a wide spectrum of designers from fields of architecture, interiors and industrial backgrounds and asked them to turn their hands to furniture, lighting and homewares designs. These architects and designers have rendered the raw materials of concrete, timber and metal into original vessels, cabinets, chairs and mirrors in both singular and collaborative efforts across each piece. The designers selected to launch the brand include David Caon, Matthew Sheargold, Philip Chia, Adam Cornish, David Knott, Facet Studio, Andy Grigor and Ben Wahrlich, with emerging and established names to follow throughout the year.
