Construction underway for Brisbane City’s 1 William Street development
Pegged for completion in late 2016, the 1 William Street office tower is well underway, as the first stage of Brisbane City’s much-hyped revitalisation of the Queens Wharf precinct.
While the landmark structure will predominantly be an office tower, housing both private sector tenants and more than 4,000 Queensland Government employees, its construction marks the beginning of the revitalisation of the riverside Queens Wharf precinct. Located on the southern end of William Street close to Parliament House and QUT, the end result of the entire Queens Wharf precinct is yet to be decided, but the planned entertainment precinct may include a mix of six-star hotels, retail centres, theatre and convention facilities, restaurant and entertainment zones and new open spaces.
Developed by CBUS Property, 1 William Street will comprise of 43 levels and feature a unique central core, which will allow natural light and provide 360-degree views. The development will also boast a skygarden and laneway connections through the core, featuring collaborative spaces and concentrated areas for quiet working.
