Containerval Festival

New Containerval Festival reveals pop-up program

Coming to Hamilton from November 2–16, the Northshore Containerval Festival will bring an inspiring blend of cultural celebrations to the banks of the Brisbane River.

Transforming a collection of shipping containers into pop-up shops, performance spaces, artist studios and a wide variety of food stalls, Containerval will spark the imaginations of people of all interests. The full program has now been revealed, and will combine elements of music, dance, fitness, fashion and film. Containers will also feature a craft beer and wine bar and Mexican taqueria from the good folk behind this event and Vietnamese street food stall Chitty Banh Banh by My Kitchen Rules runners up Jake and Elle. The Weekend Edition’s The Pop-Up Hotel will also be setting up camp, offering attendees the rare opportunity to spend an evening in its luxuriously comfortable tent space.

Saturday November 2 will see the festival commence with DJs, beat boxers, skaters and theatrical performers, while Sunday November 3 brings circus performers and bands to the container stages. The festival continues with fashion shows, dance acts, fitness displays, a suitcase rummage and closes with the Brisbane International Film Festival outdoor screenings. For the full line-up of events, you can visit the Containerval Facebook page.
