Gangs are a subject rarely discussed away from the evening news, but it is a theme studied by artist Lee Harnden. Catharsis is an exhibition of Lee’s latest works – a combination of paintings that explore gangland imagery through portraits of depth and emotion. Lee is best known for his graffiti works, in which he has had a career of more than 20 years. This exhibition marks Lee’s steps from street culture and place him between the two genres of this former world and the typically grandiose world of fine art. For one night the arena that is Lightspace will play host to a collection of Lee’s pieces. The exhibition will be open from 6:30 pm and will run until late.
