Woolly Mammoth
633 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley
Heavy wooden doors guard the opening of Woolly Mammoth, hiding behind them a curious world of prehistoric creatures, neon lighting and leather furnishings. The eclectic interiors of the Fortitude Valley drinking den have been designed by Alexander Lotersztain of Derlot, who has preserved the building’s existing brickwork and cobblestone pillars, coupled with a mishmash of quirky finishes and modern fittings. The downstairs Alehouse is dark and cavernous, home to the venue’s namesake beast, while a climb upstairs will lead you to the light-filled and astroturf-lined Garden Bar at the front, or the moody and dimly lit Mane Stage at the back .
