Zeus

After opening its first eatery in Sydney, Zeus has created its first Queensland home between Grey and Little Stanley Streets at South Bank. The dual-frontage space is sleek yet warm and inviting, with the open kitchen running the length of the entire venue framed by white brick tiles and shelves stacked with olive oil, Mythos beer and potted succulents. The menu centres around a selection of eight pitas, filled with a variety of meats from the souvla. Traditionalists will love choices such as the Uncle ‘Tzimmy’ Classic with pork or chicken, tomato, tzatziki, onion, paprika and chips, or for something a little different, you can opt for the lightly fried soft-shell crab, or the Stavros Stavrou with grilled haloumi and olive tapenade. Partner your pita with traditional Greek dips, or sides such as spanakopita, corn cobs, salads and fetta and oregano chips. And you no longer have to wait for Paniyiri to roll around to get your honey puff fix – Zeus serves both traditional and chocolate loukoumades as well as ice-cream and bougatsa (filo-wrapped vanilla bean custard) to finish your meal.
