Those who loved Kelvin Grove’s Roost Cafe may have been concerned their beloved coffee spot had disappeared, but in fact, its owners have merely taken over the entire space it once sat within, resulting in a brand-new venue, The Menagerie. Nestled in a cosy nook of Kelvin Grove’s Urban Village, the coffee shop and bar is open every day, serving up coffee, craft beer and wine during the day, and the addition of cocktails from 4:00 pm. The interior is warmly lit, with  recycled furniture creating a comfortable, lived-in vibe. The outdoor areas features cactus gardens and manicured plants. The Menagerie will also host regular events including cult-movie nights, erotic novel readings and a wine club, as well as regular live-music acts.
