Tucked away within a laneway beside the Treasury Hotel sits Stephens Lane, a pop-up bar that is the perfect spot for an evening nibble and a cocktail. Operated by the Treasury Casino, the bar serves a tidy range of beers, wines, cocktails and bar food to the inner-city crowd. Onion rings, oysters, tempura vegetables and sliders are some of the bites on offer, in addition to three Tanqueray-based cocktails, Little Creatures beer and a neat selection of wines. The secluded space is decorated with comfy crates and wooden barrels, adding a fresh spin to the laneway’s facade. The bar will remain a permanent fixture on George Street for the foreseeable future, visit regularly as the seasons change and new items pop up on the menu. Stephens Lane opens from 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
